This video introduces the tennis forehand. In this section of the website we focus on the fundamentals of the tennis forehand -- the things that all good players do the same. All good players pivot and turn their shoulders, take their rackets back, swing to contact, and follow through. |
Full Body Text:
This video introduces the tennis forehand. We've taught the forehand by focusing on the fundamentals -- the things that every good player does when they hit a forehand. Every good player 1) pivots and turns their shoulders, 2) takes their racket back, 3) swings to contact, and 4) follows through.
It doesn't matter if you're watching Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, or Maria Sharapova -- they all do these things when they hit a forehand, despite the fact that their forehands sometimes look very different.
If you can master the basics we've laid out in this video you will have a fundamentally sound forehand and be on your way to turning the shot into a major weapon!
Head on over to start the first step of the forehand: Tennis Forehand Pivot and Shoulder Turn

Wonderful Site! I've been dying for a site like this. I'm an older fan of the sport who has just now picked up the game. Can't afford lessons and don't have time to spend learning by error.
Great stuff.
