The serve is one of the most complicated shots in tennis because there are bunch of different things going on at the same time.
If you have ever watched pro tennis, you may have noticed the wide variety of service motions on the pro tour. Even though these motions may look different at first, every single tennis player with a good serve does certain things almost exactly the same. We call these things the fundamentals of the tennis serve.
We are going to teach the tennis serve in a way that is technically sound,easy to learn, and that incorporates all those fundamental elements we just talked about. If you learn the serve based on the technique we teach in this section, your service motion will end up looking almost identical to Roger Federer's.
We will teach the tennis serve in this section by showing you how to do each fundamental step, we will show you high-speed video of pros doing each step, and we will also show you pictures of some top touring professionals doing each of these elements. Finally, we will show you how to combine the steps together.
