Tennis Forehand Progressions Step 1: Contact
The first step in the forehand progressions is to start at your contact point and follow through. You need to establish your hitting arm position and then simply push the tennis ball over the net and catch your racket as you follow through.

Tennis Forehand Progressions Step 2: Racket Back
The second step of the tennis forehand progressions is to start with your body sideways and your racket all the way back. From here, rotate your body back towards the net and swing the tennnis racket forward to your contact point. Finish the stroke by following through.

Tennis Forehand Progressions Step 3: Pivot & Turn
The third step of the tennis forehand progressions is to start in the ready position, then pivot and turn your shoudlers. Your racket should then come straight back, with no loop, to your prepared position from Step 2 of the progressions.

Tennis Forehand Progressions Step 4: Loop
The fourth step of the tennis forehand progressions is to start adding a loop to your swing. We start with the racket behind you at shoulder level, with the racket head pointed up. From here, you can drop the racket down and then swing forward to the tennis ball.

Tennis Forehand Progressions Step 5: Full Swing
The fifth and final step of the tennis forehand progressions is to put together the full forehand motion using the techniques we've developed in this section. Start at the service line in the ready position, and once you have mastered hitting from here you can move back to the baseline.
