hey Will i had subscribed around 1 & 1/2 years back for improve your forehand, and it helped me a lot. i subscribed when i was 10 yrs old . at that time i wasn't tat good n i never used 2 get a chance 2 play at my club cuz i wasn't of tat good. now i am 12 yrs old i can beat all those good players in my club who never used 2 play with me 6-0 . i also reached d quarter-finals of a national level tournament ( it was very first tournament ). i beat everyone in d qualifying round 6-0 and in d main draw i beat everyone with ease. And u won't believe that i have never done tennis coaching in my whole life except beginner's coaching when i was 6. i need 2 thank u . n FYB rules ! i wish i could meet u once Will it would be as good as meeting a great player like federer. hey Will can u send me some videos on my second serve . i am a little small so it is being a little tough for me to give good topspin .

THANKS.

Dude...these are simply the building blocks for a solid forehand, the fundamental movements and concepts. Do you think Will, a Div I college player and teaching professional isn't doesn't know what he is doing? You must understand that most of the players that visit this website are in the 3.0-3.5 NTRP category. giving them 5 million things to think about will only cause confusion. This is a starting point, explaining the basic concepts. Please understand that everything bit of information is carefully thought out and stated in such a way to benefit tennis players the most. For one reason or another, he didn't feel the need to mention those concepts, though they are important. In other words; let him do his JOB, while we do our part and learn as much as we can. However, no matter how much information one may receive on the internet, there will always be "trial and error", there is no escaping the discipline associated with these concepts; or the game of tennis, for that matter. Anyone looking for an easy way out of hard work...you are playing the wrong sport.

There are still some missing elements here which make a significant part of the game. For instance, keeping the muscles relaxed, how much to flex the arm, how much power to generate based on the distance of the ball received, handling much faster balls, lower balls and those that are rather high. So even if you play the basic game and know the fundamentals of a forehand, this needs to change based on some of the points I mentioned and even if fundamental, they need to take some of these factors into account. Otherwise, anyone goes on the court expecting to just maintain these 5 steps and playing the rest with trial and error.

I'm brand new to the site but I like it already. Your explanations are comprehensive, yet simple to understand. Looking forward to getting on to the court to do some self evaluation.
