Tonight’s fourth-round match at the Australian Open pits Roger Federer against hometown favorite Lleyton Hewitt. Unfortunately for Hewitt, Roger has beaten him 14 straight times. In fact, the Australian hasn’t beaten the Swiss star since 2003.
We expect Roger’s dominance of Hewitt to continue. Hewitt is a counter-puncher, which means he’s very consistent but doesn’t possess a big weapon. If you look at Federer’s track record at the majors, he only loses to guys who can pressure him with powerful groundstrokes. Players like Juan Martin Del Potro or Rafael Nadal. Because Hewitt doesn’t possess this ability we expect him to lose in 4 sets.
