In the past year the number of tennis players has grown by 12 percent according to the USTA! And there are 25 percent more players than six years ago. In total, 30.1 million people in the United States picked up a racket in the past 12 months.
Tennis is also doing a good job of retaining players:
The sport is doing better at retaining players, with a 6.3 percent increase from the year before. Former players are returning to the game for the third year in a row, with nearly 7 million coming back this year. . . .
