FYB is on court w/the pros tomorrow!

The Washington Kastles have been nice enough to let us film their practice session tomorrow. This means you’ll be able to see exactly what the pros are doing when they work on their games. The tentative lineup for tomorrow’s practice is head coach Murphy Jensen, Rennae Stubbs (5 grand slam doubles titles), Bobby Reynolds (ranked as high as 63 in the world), and Victoria Azarenka (the 18th-ranked player in the world, although she’s been as high as 6).

If you have any questions for the pros please submit them in the comments below! I’ll select the best questions and ask them during the practice session tomorrow. Go Kastles!

Great opportunity for you guys. Will you be headed to the US Open this year?

Will Hamilton July 19, 2010 at 8:38 pm

Yep we'll be there! How about you?

The level of tennis I perform when I am simply rallying is much greater than the level of when I play matches. How do you carry over how you rally into your matches?

With bells on ;) Hope to catch up.

When entering a large tournament or a Grand Slam, How much do nerves get to you as pro's? For me, no matter the size of the tournament I always feel a little nervous going into that first match. What about you guys? Do you ever start off slow and not go for shots that would be winners, and instead play a safer shot?

Are you guys tense whenever you are hitting competitively? (Not just like during big tournaments but when you are just playing out points with friends)

Do you play better when you are tense or more relaxed?

I'd love to hear about any of the pro's complete practice routines, what kind of drills they do, etc.! Thanks!

I would like to ask Victoria the following question :when you're waiting for the serve from your opponent do you have an exact plan where to aim the return to, depending on whether it comes to your fore- or backhand? Or do you just wait for the ball without any specific intentions, and decide spontaneously at the exact moment when you hit the ball back?
