“Pushers” are the #1 problem opponent for the vast majority of recreational players. This isn’t surprising when you take a look at their skill sets. Typically they’re built for speed, don’t take any unnecessary risks, and play every shot safe right down the middle of the court. So how in the world can we possibly defeat somebody so consistent? In today’s episode of the ET Podcast Ian gives some advice.
The second topic in Episode #128 is how to deal with low, short shots on your side of the court. Slice or topspin? Cross court or down the line? Ian weighs the pros and cons of each target and shot type as he talks about the tactics that should be involved in returning this shot back effectively.

typically i find pushers to be too safe sometimes. and if thier not putting much behind thier balls, it makes it really easy for u to attack. i have a friend like that, and everytime i play him i just play super agressive. once u establish control over a point, theres really very little he can do to get back in it, and eventually he will get tired, or u will pull the winner. just keep a cool mind, and dont lose composure. however, i also find out pushing a pusher to work as well, but this is bound by ur physical capabilities. i have another friend that pushes and counter punches really well. so if i try to attack, he will counter punch it with a better shot. so really the only way to beat him i find is to just out push him, and never go for too much
